Sydenhurst is a care home for the elderly and welcomes people from all nationalities and of varying levels of independence. They wanted a complete reshape of the way they looked to the outside world in keeping with their excellent results from CSQI. Based in a beautiful house in Godalming, with fabulous grounds, they wanted to show the quality of life that their residents receive along with the great standards of care.
We began by creating them a new logo. The idea very much came from them, as they wanted to use the silhouette of an old yew tree in the grounds. Once that was completed, we made a start on a new brochure. Rather than an expensive stapled version which they would never be able to change without having to go for a complete reprint, we persuaded them to chose a folder, which would have the basic information on and glossy inserts which they could change when they needed to, relatively inexpensively. We did though go for full colour, with large photos of the house and interior taken on a photo shoot with our photographer Richard. Initially they wanted to go for single colour, but realised that in order to show the place at its best, full colour was the only way. And it certainly made a world of difference!
We then made a start on the website, again a Joomla site, which they can update themselves with events or news. As with the printed materials they wanted the design to be high quality, reflecting the high standard of the home.
This work was done together with Joyce from Marketing2Business.
