The following is a brief guide on how to back up your Joomla website*.

You can click on the magnifying glass bottom right of each picture if you want to see a bigger version.

1. Log in to the admin area as normal and you should see in the control panel a button that says backup.

2. Click on the backup button and a screen will open.

3. Scroll down to the bottom so you can see the backup now button

4. The backup will begin and can take quite a long time depenidng on how big your site is.

5. When it finishes you will get a message like this

6. Click on "Administer backup files"

7. Put a check in the box next to the backup you just made

8. Select "Download" and save it to your desktop and keep it somewhere safe

9. We recommend that you do a backup each time you make a major change or at least once a month.
