Hello! My name is Tom and I have been working at Hot Sand Design for the summer of 2010 as an intern and I am very much enjoying being here!

Sam is a brilliant boss, and works very hard, even though the office troublemaker Alice often tries to distract her!  It is almost like not being at work at all, more a fun place to spend the day,  I did not expect this when I started and it has come as an extremely pleasant surprise, as I think it helps the quality of our work enormously that we produce it in such a comfortable and friendly environment.

What attracted me to Hot Sand Design in the first place was the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and develop a broad focus of my skills in all areas.  As working for a particular company will only allow work on their own branding/designs, an agency such as this has a variety of clients, all wanting different things.  This keeps life interesting, not to mention challenging!  Having had no experience designing for actual clients before arriving here I have been extremely grateful for the opportunity to experience some of the pressures and the rewards of doing such work on an almost daily basis!

Coming from my masters course at the University of Portsmouth I did find it difficult getting out of bed in time for a full working day, but I am now pleased to report that almost without fail I am ready and awake to start work at half past 8!  I travel from Locks Heath which is just outside Fareham, it is a journey that i now enjoy, as it gives me an opportunity to wake up before i get to the office!  It also allows me to get stuck behind caravans and the odd motorcycle display team, but thankfully this is a rare occurance!

Having learnt the basics of the Joomla! content management system i can now perform many of the tasks that otherwise Sam would have had to make time for, meaning she can get on with the important stuff, and i can concentrate on my areas, such as updating this site for instance.

I hope to have a productive time here, and help Sam and Trevor to the best of my ability! Some of you reading this may get to speak to me, some of you may not, but all i will say is, (and at the risk of it sounding like marketing spiel!) that whoever you are, Hot Sand Design is a special business that genuinley cares about its clients, and this is not a hollow promise, i have seen it first hand!
